Neyzens;
In this lesson, you will learn how to play Re, Mi, Fa, Sol and La notes. I call them “middle sounds”. To get these sounds, you need to blow a bit stronger. Now, let us see the places of the notes in stave:
Now it is the right time to explain the concept of “flat”.
Flat:It means "lower in pitch by a semitone (half step) and has an associated symbol (?).The correct order in stave is si? , mi? , la? , re? , sol? , do? and fa?.
Now let us take look at mi?, fa# and la? sounds:
Now if we reorder the notes in stave:
Ok! Let us talk about the places of the notes on ney. You already know the re sound; cover all the holes as shown in the photo below.
Re perdesini zaten biliyoruz tüm parmaklarımız ya kapalı ya da hepsi açık. Hepsi kapalı(Re) den başlayalım (Alttaki Resim) :
For the sound mi? (it is called “Nim Hisar”), only the last hole should be semi-covered (i.e., semi-opened) and the other ones should be covered as shown in the photo below.
For the sound mi (it is called “Hüseyni”), only the last hole should be open as shown in the photo below.
For the sound fa (it is called “Acem”), the last two holes should be open as shown in the photo below.
For the sound fa# (it is called “Eviç”), you should cover the four holes shown in the photo below.
For the sound sol (it is called “Gerdaniye”), you should cover the three holes shown in the photo below.
For the sound sol# (it is called “Şehnaz”), you should cover the two holes shown in the photo below.
For the sound la (it is called “Muhayyer”), you should cover the holes shown in the photo below.

Finally, we came to the end of another lesson. It is unnecessary to repeat that you should practice what you have learnt.
